Russian 1 - ^Homework:

• Lesson 1 Read the pages on the phonetics of the Russian language, pages 1 - 20, in your textbook, Introductory Russian Grammar, by Stilman, Stilman, & Harkins.

• Lesson 2 Refer to textbook page 15. Unit 3, pages 24-27, please read these pattern sentences and pronunciation drills. Try to understand the conversation we have on page 23. For those who are interested in the script of the Russian language, copy lines from pages 27 to 37. Vocabulary is on page 38 and should be memorized for use in the next lesson. Next class we will start with Unit 4.

• Lesson 3 Please read pages 15-18 in your textbook and work with the patterns and especially with the drills on page 18.

• Lesson 4 In the textbook read in Unit 4, pages 40-42. Do all the exercises and memorize the words.

• Lesson 5 In your textbook read in Unit 4 pages 43-45 and memorize the vocabulary words on page 50.
•  
• Lesson 6 In the next class we will again work on the vocabulary. Try to memorize it and we will use the words to form sentences.

• Lesson 7 In Unit 5, review pages 58-61 and the conversations on page 64. Do the drills on page 65 and memorize the vocabulary - go back to previous drills if necessary. Do all the work out loud in order to train the mouth and tongue in pronunciation.

• Lesson 8 Study the expressions on page 66. If necessary, go back to the audio of Lesson 8 to hear the correct pronunciation of these expressions.

• Lesson 9 Memorize words and vocabulary of the lesson (family members and things at home).
•  
• Lesson 10 Memorize expressions, learn them, and try to pronounce them the way I do. We will work with them in our next lesson.

• Lesson 11 Memorize the vocabulary and go back to my reading of it for the correct pronunciation before doing the homework exercises.
•  
• Lesson 12 For practice, substitute the adjective with any king of adjective from the vocabulary. You can change the forms, number and gender of any adjective.
•  
• Lesson 13 Read dialect and train yourself in the pronunciation of the phrases in the dialect.
•  
• Lesson 14 Read grammatical theory on pages 116 - 121, 125 - 127, 132 - 136 in Unit 9 of your textbook. Memorize the vocabulary and expressions from the lesson. Read everything out loud.

• Lesson 15 Read pages 137 - 145. Read theory attentively and do all exercises, drills, pattern sentences and memorize vocabulary and expressions in the conversations. If additional vocabulary is needed, go to the back of the book.

• Lesson 16 Review table with questions and answers introduced today.
•  
• Lesson 17 Memorize words in the vocabulary and read them out loud.
•  
• Lesson 18 Repeat the vocabulary. Read and memorize the words.
•  
• Lesson 19 Do a review of the cases in the singular.
•  
• Lesson 20 Read pages 197 to 208, review vocabulary and dialects - practice on your own.
•  
• Lesson 21 Memorize the dialogues or at least the expressions of the dialogues so you can use them when speaking of your knowledge of the Russian language.

• Lesson 22 In Unit 15, read pages 222 - 224. In our next lesson we will make sentences using the rules we have learned.

• Lesson 23 Answer the questions after you have read the dialogue.
•  
• Lesson 24 Read pages 233 - 238, do the drills on pages 238 - 240, and on page 246 do the drill - genitive as direct object.

• Lesson 25 Please memorize the conjugation of the verbs at the end of the vocabulary in Unit 16.

• Lesson 26 Read pages 258 and 259 and repeat the pattern sentences we worked with in our lesson today. Review pages 259 and 260. Repeat them and we will start with them at our next lesson.

• Lesson 27 Memorize the different foods from the restaurant menu.
•  
• Lesson 28 Pages 279 - 281, do all drills & pattern sentences to the theoretical material.
•  
• Lesson 29 Read pages 274 - 279. Do all drills and exercises.
